This sloop is out to sea under full sail on a fine summer day - gliding through the water. Are they departing or returning? All cares are left on shore. The work measures 16 1/2" by 13 1/2"to sight and 25 1/2" by 21 1/2" and is set in an acid-free mount in a fine period frame. The artist's signature is found on the lower right. Albert Bross is known for landscapes and seascapes. He studied at the Art Students League in New York with Frank DuMond and George Bridgman and exhibited at the Newark Museum, the Hudson Valley Art Association, the Montclair Museum of New Jersey and the Springfield, Massachusetts Museum.
