Fine 11" Koenig & Wernicke Character 1070 Baby

This precious 11" Koenig & Wernicke baby came out of a closed private doll museum. He is in lovely condition with fine pale bisque, soft painting, crisp modeling and good quality pink finished 5 piece baby body. His brown sleep eye have painted black lashes top and bottom. His short flyaway multi-stroked brows just match his original brown mohair cap style wig. He still has his original lid wax. His head is incised on the back "K. & W. // 1070 //0" His baby body has the original finish with a few surface craze lines on the knees. His hands and finger are intact. He is dress in his original knit factory costume. The German Koenig and Wernicke doll factory was established in 1912 and this baby dates close to that period. He is a fine example of the 1070 mold and a quality character baby in a desirable cabinet size.
