This lovely French Fashion bodice is made of deep amethyst linen with a woven pattern and glaze.. The bodice is fully lined and has a beaded net piece that over laps the front. The over lap is medium mauve cotton covered with net and decorated with gun metal glass beads in an elaborate overall floral design. The bodice is treadle and hand sewn.The neck is edged with pale pink or lavender silk. The long narrow sleeves have a sewn 1/2" slit on the inside at the wrist. The bodice opens down the front off center to the left and is meant to be pinned . The beaded net piece laps over the opening and is meant to be pinned in place. The bodice is 5.5" from the shoulder, 4" shoulder to shoulder in the front and 3.5" in back, 5" around at the arm holes, 5.5" from shoulder to wrist and 2.4" around the wrist. There is wear on binding/trim at the neck and some loose threads. The bodice is otherwise in good condition and a wonderful fashion piece. This is an old item and dates to the 19th Century.
