This fantastic painted Egyptian motif vanity bag would make a spectacular addition to your Egyptian theme display. Offered priced to sell, this example has some issues though, as you know, if perfect the price would be much higher.

Two steel blue sphinx face each other with an art deco red beaded embellishment below. The shiny black celluloid creates a striking background. A braided rope handle allows this substantial piece to be displayed either lying down or hung. The opening mechanism works well and there is no warping noted. Unfortunately the tassel portion is missing. Inside we find two well thought out areas for necessities. On one side is a mirror with attached coin purse; the other has a coin purse that snaps shut. Some fraying and makeup residue to the silk is noted. This extraordinary piece is in overall good vintage condition. It measures approximately 6 x 4 inches not including rope handle.
