I have hung onto this French style nautical outfit because I love it so much, but it is time to let go. This outfit consists of a linen and cotton dress (lined bodice) with braiding and flat ribbon on the bodice and box pleated skirt and a lightweight wool lined nautical style matching jacket. The jacket has darts at the bottom edge of the sleeve to make a nice fit. What is so striking is the contrasting turquoise collar on the jacket and bodice on the dress. The jacket also has the gold braiding and navy blue flat stitched ribbon on the collar. To complete the outfit, there is a matching lined navy wool tam using all of the trim used in the jacket and dress. Simply wonderful style using old fabrics and trim. This outfit was made by a talented German seamstress. Much detail and thought went into this outfit. DRESS MEASUREMENTS: length 12-1/2 in., across back of shoulders 6 in., around waist 13-1/2 in., around under the arms 14 in., neck opening 8 in. JACKET MEASUREMENTS: length 7 in., sleeve length 6-1/2 in., around bottom edge of sleeve 4 in., across back of shoulders 7 in. HAT MEASUREMENTS: around the band (circumference) 13 in.
