I am primarily an antique doll dealer/collector but every now and then a nice collectible doll shows up "on my doorstep" and I cannot resist when they are in good condition and have things going for them. This vinyl solid body brunette Barbie which is either #3 or #4 (both from the 1960's). The difference in them, if I understand correctly, is the tint of the skin. Not having one to compare, I have no way of determining. I am pricing her low as though she were a #4 since her skin looks like a normal flesh tone color. She has pierced ears with faux "diamond studs" in them. I have learned to look for green and I honestly can say I see the very tiniest amount under her right earring. Her crown and glory is her outfit. It is the 1960-63 Enchanted Evening #983, tagged "Barbie Mattel" and her fur stole, tagged "Barbie Mattel" and she is carrying a matching drawstring purse in the same fabric as her dress. She has white vinyl heels marked "Hong Kong" on the bottom of the soles. They have splits across the straps. She has excellent color, curved brows, blue irises and no holes in her feet of course. Two snaps are intact on the back of her dress. Her beautiful pink gown has about an inch horizontal stitched line on the back about where her fanny is that I assume is a repair to a split in the fabric. She is not mint but she is in excellent condition and she looks great with her boyfriend, a flocked hair Ken in tux, which is shown as Item H-00817.
