Sweet Porcelain Heubach Quality Figurine of Baby Riding a Bird Emerging from an Egg
If you enjoy the novelty figurines with babies and/or animals as subjects, plus the quality of Gebruder Heubach, you will certainly enjoy the presence of this German porcelain piece. The baby is enjoying his "ride" on top of the lid of a candy dish (or perhaps another type of container) that appears to be a bird emerging from its egg. The artistry is fabulous. The beading and loose fit of the baby's gown is so much like a Heubach piano baby. The piece has artists tics on the bottom but no mark that I have seen as to the maker. It is top of the line though. The inside of the bottom of the dish is glazed and the outside is unglazed porcelain. Dimensions: 7 in. tall; 5 in. wide; and 3-5/8 in. deep. No damage and no repair.
