"Don't Be Greedy" is the inscribed name of this absolutely adorable porcelain figurine by the English team of Robinson & Ledbetter, early 1900's. It is a large piece measuring 12 inches tall, 9-1/2 inches wide and 6 inches front to back. The artists worked a miracle in portraying the precious child as somewhat "greedy" as she elbows her dog away from her as he side glances at the slice of cheese she is holding in her other hand. This is such a sweet theme. Robinson & Ledbetter are known to mix children and pets into their artwork. I personally feel they created some of the best figurines from this period. I have a Red Riding Hood and Wolf figurine from the same artist as well as another child who is reading to her dog.
