Antique Enamel Match Safe, Matchsafe, Vesta, FRENCH Nudes

This amazing matchsafe features two different enamel scenes on each side. The first one is a lovely maid with a tray full of apples. It reads oui veut des pommes, which translates Yes, means apples. The other side features a half dressed woman with a mirror in her hand. The enamel is all in good condition with no damage other than a bit of wear, light scratches on the black dress of the woman with the apples. The match safe measures 1-7/8" by 1-3/8". The top of the matchsafe is the hinged and closes with a snap. The inside is blue enamel with a scene on it. I believe this matchsafe is set in sterling but it is unmarked silver. An Amazing piece in really great condition for it's age and use. C-1880-90.
