A wonderful oil on canvas signed Engerman on lower right. Charmingly humble with original rustic wood frame that is fitting of the austere composition and naïve style of this painting. It’s has a neutral colored background in very deep mossy green, tan and khaki. The jug looks to represent grey stoneware, the apples are deep crimson red, bananas and grapefruit are in muted yellows on a table cloth of khaki and greys.
I bought it at the New York 26th Street Flea Market back when it used to be outside in many different parking lots.
