They published these books to be used as gifts to their best customers. Saint-Etienne – May 1907
12 ¼" wide 8" high 1 ¾" thick "Album de Chasse" Hunting Album containing 167 photogravure printed pages in color after the original watercolor works by P. Mahler. And 13 black and white prints by unknown artists. There are descriptions in French of each print on tissue paper dividers protecting each print.
This book is in very good condition. The cover is worn but the prints are in perfect condition as well as most of the tissue paper dividers with descriptions of which only three out of approx. 180 of these tissues are missing and a few are creased.
Total of 180 prints:
64 dogs including pointers, setters, griffons/wirehairs, spaniels, retrievers, hounds, bassets, dachshunds, terriers and more.
23 Animals including elk, stag, deer, moose, 3 goats, wild boar, 3 rabbits, squirrel, bear, badger, otter, wolf, fox, wild cat, sable, 2 weasels, skunk, ermine and more.
80 birds including geese, ducks, pheasants, quail, grouse, lark, doves, pigeon, sea birds, swan, flamingo, penguin, vulture, eagle, hawks, crows, jays and more.
Also included are black and white prints of 10 guns, one bicycle and two of their factory buildings with the tissue description pages for each as well.
