19th c. Regency Blown Glass Bell Shaped Candle Hall Lantern
A fine and rare 19th c. Regency hall lantern. The bottom leaf decorated finial unscrews to reveal a candle nozzle. The lantern has been electrified with the addition of a three light hanging fixture - this could be removed quite easily if you want to put it back to original candle light. Beautiful elongated shaped storm shade with rolled and crimped edge distinguishes this lantern from more typical examples - as does the quality of the metal casting and chasing. Smoke shade also finished with rolled edge. Glass bell held in place by a finely reeded brass band at the top. A beautiful elegant lantern. Excellent condition. Measures approximately 21" long (not counting top chain which can be used to adjust height.
