Fabulous large Victorian 14K yellow gold (acid tested) brooch/watch pin. This 145 year old hand constructed piece shows the masterful design and skill of the Victorian jeweler. The dimensional design is reminiscent of a shield. The front domed surface is highly stippled creating a sparkling effect. The brooch measures 1 1/4" long X 1 1/4" wide, and sits up 10MM high. There is a 1" X 1/4" applied decorative bar across the center of the brooch that has 4 bead set pearls and 6 hand set seed pearls. There is tiny black enameling along the outside edge. The back has it's original T-bar and "C" closure, and hand engraved script inscription, "F. M. Chase Oct. 28th, 1869". Weight is 5 dwt. The brooch/watch pin is in what I would call near mint condition, with no repairs or damage to report. Wonderful piece of 145 year old Victorian jewelry in excellent condition. Wear it alone as a brooch, or add your favorite watch, locket, or charm. You can not go wrong with this beautiful piece.
