1889 Swedish Holy Scriptures Family Bible Dore Illustrations

Wonderful Swedish Holy Scriptures or Family Bible, copyright 1889, W. R. Vansant. The Bible measures 12 1/2" X 10" X 5", and weighs almost 15 lbs. The cover of the bible is worn as the photo's show, and the front cover is about to come loose. The first few pages has come loose and are pretty ragged, but still with the bible. One of those is an illuminated page of the Ten Commandments. The rest of the over 4000 (at least I think) pages are present and in good Antique (121 years) condition with age appropriate light foxing and coloring to the pages. The ornate metal closure clasps are present and in good condition.

This wonderful bible also contains a beautiful colour marriage certificate that is blank. Then there is the family section which is all blank and is in black and gold. In this section there is another marriage certificate, page for marriages, page of births, and a page for deaths. Many of the pictures that are in the back section of the bible are in full colour and they are fabulous.

There are 116 pages at the front that are I believe the dictionary of the bible. There is a blank coloured page that must be a dedication page, or page to write ownership.

I feel so strongly about this bible that I am going to do TWO SEPARATE LISTINGS FOR IT. THIS ONE HAS INFORMATION ON SOME OF THE THINGS THAT I CAN FIGURE OUT. THE SECOND LISTING wii be so THAT I CAN POST NINE MORE PICTURES THAT WILL HOPEFUL TELL MORE ABOUT THIS GREAT BOOK THEN I CAN FIGURE OUT. THERE IS ONLY 1 BIBLE!!!!
