Length Honiton Lace Early 20th Century
This is a most useful length of early 20th Century Honiton Lace. Honiton Lace is a form of bobbin lace, worked on a lace makers pillow using hundreds of pins and threads, taking a great deal of time and skill to create, not to mention amazing eyesight. Honiton lace comes from the South West area of England, around Devon.
This length measures just short of a yard, being 33" at the top and 34" at the bottom. The lace itself measures approximately 2 1/2" in depth. The lace pattern repeats are approximately 6" in length.
Wonderful for trimming something really special. Certainly worth treasuring. When these incredible laces have disappeared into collections, we will never see their like again.
