What a fantastic addition to your wooden jewelry collection! Done in profile, this fantastically carved brooch depicts an American Indian elder. The details in the carving are wonderful, as is the aged wood patina since this one dates to the late 1930s or early 1940s. This piece measures a large 3" tall. Condition is excellent for vintage wood jewelry with no chips or cracks, although it does have the initials K.O. carved into the back. This piece appears in “Warman’s Costume Jewelry” by Pamela Y. Wiggins (Krause, 2014) on p. 44.
