The colors in this brooch - coral, vivid blue, spring green and a touch of white - sing summertime. As with most Hagler/St. Gielar pieces, it is comprised of a variety of interesting bead elements and findings including intricately wired seed beads and four pair-shaped dangles. The late St. Gielar learned his craft from Hagler, so it is marked both "Stanley Hagler N.Y.C." and "Ian St. Gielar" on the back. Measures 3 7/8" long and 2 3/4" wide for an impressive look. Condition is excellent showing no wear to the front and very little on the back. This piece appears in “Warman’s Costume Jewelry” by Pamela Y. Wiggins (Krause, 2014) on p. 188.
