This wonderful enameled brooch features the 21 flags represented at the 1938 Friendship Conference of North and South America held in Lima, Peru. The brooch was produced to raise money for the Inter-American Scholarship Fund and first sold in 1942. It measures 2 3/4" tall and 2 1/4" wide. Marked "Coro" on the reverse with patent number. Condition is excellent with very little wear to the enamel and nice gold-tone plating. This piece appears in “Warman’s Costume Jewelry” by Pamela Y. Wiggins (Krause, 2014) on p. 117.
