This early 1900s chatelaine pin comes as we found it with a Whiting & Davis style metal mesh mini purse. The brooch tests as 10K gold and weighs approximately 10.6 grams. It has a hook on the back that could hold a watch instead of the purse. The pin has a safety catch and the old-style pin back that doesn't open completely to the right. Has a very Victorian look to it although it likely dates to the Edwardian era based on the clasp style. The brooch measures 2" wide. The mini purse is 5" in total including the chains. The body of the purse measures about 3" long. A unique find in excellent condition overall - there are two small holes at the bottom of the brooch that likely held other implements or ornamentation at some point.
