This late 1800s sash pin brooch is made of black enameled metal with faceted black glass, sometimes referenced as French jet, to simulate jet. Fastens with "C" clasp appropriate to the period. It is unmarked. Measures 3" x 2 1/8". Condition is excellent with minimal wear. This piece appears in “Warman’s Costume Jewelry” by Pamela Y. Wiggins (Krause, 2014) on p. 14.
