Original Antique Brown Velvet Hat for French Fashion
So au courant for Fall toilettes, this brown velvet hat is absolutely delicious! It is classically made on a stiffened base with a flat crown and upturned brim, and decorated with a brown silk and velvet band ornamented with a silvered metal buckle. The interior is lined with a loosely woven gauze that is tacked in place.
The hat measures 2 3/4" x 2 1/4" with a interior circumference of 5 3/4". I have photographed it with Mlle. Alix who is 15 12" tall. I would say that it would probably suit poupees of 14 - 16", but please measure your Lady to be sure!
As to condition, as you can see from the photos, it is in overall excellent condition. There is some oxidation to the metal buckle, but this does not distract. This hat may be the perfect compliment to a favorite doll's costume!
