Walnut Wardrobe, Armoire. Two Door with Mirrors

We have done some minor repair to the original two back panels of this wardrobe and reglued the backs where needed. The backs are important as they give stability to the structure. The original shelving is with the piece. There is one high horizontal shelf, one vertical center divider which helps support two half shelves. This arrangement can be changed as is often done. Many like a full width rod to hang clothes. However, as was kindly pointed out to me, the depth lacks an inch or so from being able to place today's hangers front to back as is the custom. So a long single rod as in most closets will not work. Generally shelving is more efficient and shelves can be made at a small cost. Either full width or using a center divider and having separate shelves for each half can be done. These modifications can be done at a nominal charge. However, hangers can be used if hung facing the doors.

The original surface finish is good and smooth, the interior good and clean, ready for use as soon as we assemble it and check everything over. Some cleaning will be done to remove minor paint speckle and normal usage dust then it will be relacquered with satin lacquer to freshen it a bit. There is no odor, the finish will be smooth and consistent.

These break down in the following parts. Crown, 2 sides, 2 backs, two doors, center strip, base. These should NEVER never be moved without taking them apart. The backs screw into the crown, sides and base. Everything else is a fit with no screws. The drawer hardware are replacements and were there when we bought the item.

This is a good item, not a common grade.

The pictures show this before any visual enhancement so know that the dust does not come with the item, you must add your own dust...
