A very beautiful 26" antique Simon & Halbig child doll mold #1250.
Her bisque is pale, lovely and flawless. The shoulder-head has no hairlines, chips, rubs or repairs. her head has a circumference of 12-1/2" and is incised S & H 1250 // Germany // 11-1/2.
Her original blond mohair wig is very nice and the curls have been reset in the back. There are some fly-away hairs on top. The wig is still slightly attached in back with a bit of glue. I didn't want to tear her wig by removing it.
She has molded multi-stroke brows, painted upper and lower lashes, original lovely spiral blue-gray blown glass sleep eyes set on a weighted rocker with the lid wax completely intact, an open/closed mouth with 4 teeth, shapely lips with shading lines, rosy cheeks and pierced ears.
She has a riveted jointed pink kid body with jointed composition arms. Her hands are antique but probably replacements as they appear to be one size too large. Her kid body is in good condition. The kid is still supple and not dried out. There is some scuffing but no tears or leaks. There are repairs around each ankle, which were nicely done.
She comes with 3 costumes: An antique drop waist thick linen pink dress with a belt. A very cheery vintage bright green calico print cotton dress with deep pockets and an unusual cloth and straw matching hat and lastly her original pink silk dress. This original silk dress is falling apart though - the bodice has deteriorated. The netting is still good condition but dingy. Her original matching silk hair bows are still attached on each side of her wig, but they are also beginning to deteriorate. Other garments include a pair of antique knit panties, antique cotton slip and a pair of antique oilcloth shoes with leather soles (replaced laces) and vintage pink nylon socks.
