What a wonderful 1893 original copy of Chatterwell stories, illustrated by McLoughlin brothers in New York. This copy was bought by Mary Krohn for her son at Christmas of the same year of its release. She inscribed the first page.
The book measures 10-1/4" tall, 8-1/4" wide and 1" thick. It has 280 pages and over 100 stories with lots of drawings and illustrations.
The cover is starting to come loose a little and the edges are peeling slightly - However this is very minor as overall this still in very good condition and in my opinion is simply amazing for its age.
Also included is an antique 12 page German children's book. The story is written in the German language and there are several wonderful color illustrations. I believe it to be from the late 1800's to early 1900's. It is in very good condition other than the cover has pulled away from the staples.
Lovely items to display in a nursery or doll room. Delightful!
