Beautiful 16 1/2 inch (41 cm) circa early 1850's Kister "covered wagon" pink tint china head doll. She is wearing a circa late 1800's cotton print dress in blue and white that sets off her pretty rosy complexion. She has a sawdust fabric body with un-tinted china arms and pink tint china lower legs with painted and molded high heel boots. She has an expertly painted face with fine details. She has some firing specks/pits at her upper right forehead but no hairlines or chips. Body has some soiling and wear. Nicely blushed cheeks. Molded and painted hairdo with vertical curls. Her shoulder plate has three stringing holes on each side. No maker's marks were on these early dolls. She has a lovely pink tint that is difficult to see in the photos. Her boots have paint loss as seen in the photos. In addition to her pretty dress, she is wearing antique lace trimmed petticoat and pantaloons. The dress has some fading especially to the bodice and some tiny holes, missing button and torn buttonholes. Underwear is in mostly good condition. This doll is guaranteed antique. Auction is for the doll as shown in the photos only. Doll stand is not included. Very pretty doll! Be sure to add her to your collection today!
