Simon & Halbig Mold 1269 antique German bisque doll in her original costume and shoes. She measures a wonderful cabinet size of 11 inches (28 cm). Her bisque socket head is incised with S&H 1269 DEP 2 Germany. She has set blue glass eyes and nicely painted brows and lashes. Her tiny open mouth reveals four upper teeth. She has a ball jointed composition and wood body. It is incised with numbers on the back left shoulder blade. She is wearing a provincial outfit consisting of woolen dress, lace apron and collar, pantaloons, socks, shoes and bonnet. All are original to the doll. She also has a human hair wig and cardboard pate that appear replaced. Her eyes have been reset. Her body poses well but it is crudely restrung and the neck well has sunk into the body. Clothing has some faint stains, tiny holes and one shoe has some tearing all due to age. No hairlines or chips to bisque. Some plaster residue at eyes and mouth. Her doll stand is not included. This is a very hard to find mold number. Absolutely sweet and sooooo delightful. Perfect little Christmas gift to yourself!
