Vienna Art Plate of Puppies in a Basket by Kaufmann & Strauss

The Kaufmann & Strauss company, New York, New York, was formed in 1890 and produced tin plates between 1912 and 1915. According to the above reference guide, plates manufactured by them do not carry any identification.

The plate measures approximately 9 3/4". It has no maker's marks.

Condition is as follows: It has rust on the blanket and basket area. Also on the edges, along with scratches and scrapes. The back has what may be rust or something brown over a good portion of it. I haven't tried to clean it, so I don't know if any of this could be removed.

It is still a cute plate (who couldn't smile at those puppies) and one you don't see that often. Please email me if you would like to see any additional photos. I will be listing more Vienna Art Plates in the near future.
