Brass Collapsible Expandable Book Rack - Vines with North Wind Gargoyle 1930

This is a handsome brass bookrack. Each end has decorative vines, along with a North Wind Gargoyle and bird hidden in the vines. The ends fold down flat for easy storage. When it is fully extended, it measures a large 23 1/2". When it is not expanded, it measures approximately 13 1/4". Each end measures 5 1/8" high as well as wide.

I don't see any maker's marks on it although it looks the same as the one shown in Plate 2035 in the Kuritzky Collector's Encyclopedia of Bookends. They show this as rare but with no maker mentioned. I don't see any damage and it opens and closes with no problem. The metal shows some discoloration but I have not cleaned or polished it.

A nice addition to a book rack or bookend collection. Please email me if you would like to see any additional photos.
