This is a fairly large tin lithographed tray or plate, measuring 12 1/4" round. It features a portrait of Admiral Dewey. Around the outer rim are eagles and American flags. It is marked at the bottom center "Chas. W. Shonk Co. Litho, Chicago."
George Dewey (1837-1917), Admiral of the US Navy, was best known for his victory at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish American War in 1898.
The tray does show some scratches and shallow dents, consistent with its age.
It is a colorful piece and would be a nice addition to a historical collection.
