Vintage Postcard of Seven Dogs Playing Poker by Coolidge

This is a vintage postcard with the image of seven dogs playing poker in the early morning. The original painting was done by Cassius Coolidge (1844-1934) who painted other works with dogs. This one is referred to as A Friend in Need, or "Only a Friend Needed" which is on the back of the postcard.

The work got its name because the bulldog is passing an ace under the table to the dog next to him so his friend will have four aces.

It was mailed in 1958 with a 3 cent stamp. The back also has the number BLC-83. The publisher is shown as Baxtone, Amarillo, Texas, Made in U.S.A. It also says "View Gram."

It has normal edge and wear to the glossy surface. A nice addition to a series of dog cards.
