This is an advertising calendar print of "Peake, Chessie's Old Man." The advertising is for the "Chesapeake and Ohio Railway."
Chessie was used in the Railroad's advertising campaigns starting around 1933. Peake, a handsome tomcat, appeared on the scene in 1937 according to the book by Thomas W. Dixon, Jr., titled "Chessie The Railroad Kitten." He was usually pictured seated in a typical cat pose, as he is here.
The wood frame measures approximately 12 1/2" tall and 11" wide. It has glass, a dustcover, and a wire for hanging. Someone wrote on the dustcover "1934 Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad," although it would seem to be later than that based on the date Peake first appeared. It has a sticker from a gallery in New Jersey.
I don't see any damage, other than a little light foxing. A very handsome cat for sure. Please email me if you would like to see any additional photos.
