Pair of Polychrome 1925 Bookends by K & O - Angelus Call to Prayer

This listing is for a pair of metal bookends done in polychrome, depicting the Angelus Call to Prayer. They are by K & O - Kronheim and Oldenbusch. K & O was in business from 1895 to 1939 and produced colorful bookends in gray metal and bronze. This pair is gray metal.

The pair is shown in Plate 2108 in the Bookend Encyclopedia by Louis Kuritzky and Charles DeCosta. It shows them as manufactured around 1925.

They measure 5" tall and 5 1/2" wide. They are quite heavy, weighing 8 - 9 lbs. unpacked. Each has the K&O logo on the back.

As you can see in the photos, they do have scratches to the paint and discoloration in spots, but no damage to the metal. I have not done anything to clean or polish them.
