Love this paint pattern, hard to say just how it was accomplished but it is grain painting at it's most fun. This highback jelly cupboard was found in the Philadelphia area and dates to the late 19th century. The wood appears to be a northern pine, it has one drawer over two doors. The cupboard is very well constructed and very sturdy. The unique feature is the high back shelf with the wonderful grain painting on the front and also on the sides. The cupboard also has a wonderful tin can repair on the back to cover a mouse hole.
The cupboard is a nice workable size, 38 1/2" wide x 15" deep and 52" tall.
