A very interesting folk art primitive piece, hand made of readily available items. This is a make do candelabra or candle stand found a barn in Ohio. It is definitely a make do home made item. It more than likely dates back to the 1800's possibly early in that century. The candle boxes are lined with plaster which kept the candles from burning the wood, this is a trick used in the 19th century.
This piece has an iron loop to hand it from or carry it with, on the top. It does stand securely on a table and is very sturdy. It appears that the center is made from a table or chair leg. Wonderful Amish style construction.
The stand is 19" tall and in very good condition.
