Antique Folk Painted Rider Whirligig With Beer
This whirligig was actually made in a kit in the early 20th century and sold mail order. it came disassemble and unpainted. You will never see two alike. It was actually a man riding an airplane. However when you put the wings on the whirligig would only spin in circles so people removed them. People did modify them and the weather wore out the parts. We believe that these are the original blades that came with the kit.
The tail is a "Bubs German Style Beer" tin sign. I think the brewery was in Minnesota and did brew beer up to prohibition.
The paint appears to be the original painted by the person who assembled the whirligig.
It is 47" long x 27" high x 34" wide and sits on a folk art metal stand. It can be shipped.
