This is an antique glass bell dating to the Victorian era. These types of bells were often given as wedding gifts during Victorian times. This one is made of cobalt blue glass with a clear handle. It has its original clapper, which is made of clear glass (see close-up photo). Unfortunately, the handle has been repaired and has a grey colored material covering the broken area of the handle (see last close-up photo). Otherwise, the bell is in very good condition and makes a beautiful ringing noise. It measures 10 1/2" in height with a diameter of 5 7/8" across the bell opening. It weighs 1 lb. Despite the damage, this type of bell is highly sought after and not easily found - nice addition to a bell collection, a cobalt blue glass collection or just as a pretty display piece..
