Antique Christofle Armand Frenais France Silver Plated Teapot

This is an antique teapot made by French silversmith Armand Frenais and plated by Christofle. The teapot is stamped on the underside with the Christofle scales mark, "A. Frenais.5", "S.F R" and "Blanc.5". It is also stamped with various numbers (see close-up photos of stamped marks). The teapot is monogrammed on the front with the initials "HV". The teapot has a 2 cup capacity - it holds 20 oz of fluid to the top.

It measures 8 1/2" in length from the tip of the spout to the back of the handle and has a height of 4", exclusive of the finial and handle. It weighs 1 lb and 2 oz. The handle is attached to the body by two wood pieces.

The teapot is in very good condition with the exception of a couple of small, shallow dings, a larger dent to the back of the handle and some scratching to the finish, one larger scratch on the back, visible in the photo. The bottom ring that connects the handle is a little worn in places. Still, despite the imperfections, this is a very nice old piece of Christofle. Both Frenais and Christofle are highly regarded for their quality - this is a very nice acquisition for the collector.
