Here we have a rather rare find. I believe her to be a Vogue dressed 7"-8" bent legged composition baby doll, known as Sunshine Baby. She is jointed at neck, arms and legs and has painted facial features. Her eyes are blue side glancing with long painted upper lashes, painted tiny eyebrows, and a tiny red mouth. Her hair is molded and painted a dark reddish-blonde. She wears a beautiful silky satin dress with matching bonnet. The dress is made from an off-white flowered shadow print satin, that also has tiny blue flowers and pink roses on it. The dress is done in tiers with a smocked bodice and tiny short sleeves. The hem is edged in tiny loopy stitches. It fastens in back with a tiny silver tone safety pin. The dress also has an attached cotton half slip. The bonnet matches dress and has two rows of ruffles. It ties with a pink ribbon. The bonnet has mohair sewn into the front, so when baby wears bonnet she has bangs, or hair in front. Baby also wears a diaper and silky rayon socks tied with ribbon. I have not removed her diaper or socks, and only removed the dress for pictures. I believe her to be a Vogue dressed Sunshine baby. I did not find any markings on the back of her head, and their appears to be a marking on her back but I cannot make it out. I believe her to be from the 1930s. Her dress and bonnet are very well made and are definitely factory. She is in very good to excellent condition. Her slip and socks do have some age soiling. Dress has a very light, brown, very small mark in back. The back body has some lines in it that appear to be factory, not damage. She does have a little rub on the back of her arm and a very tiny one on her face. All and all she is totally cute, quite rare and ready for display. Please email if you have any questions and as always thanks for looking!
