This beautiful hand painted Limoge charger certainly makes a dramatic statement. It is just lovely with a cascade of roses in shades from white to a deep rose. These are set off amid stems and leaves of soft greens and earth tone on a background of sponged cream and mauve. Simply stated, it is truly striking!
The edge of the charger is gold and has alternating large and small scallops. The detail is wonderful making the entire piece handsome and very desirable.
The back of the charger bears the mark "Limoges France" in green under the glaze with "Limoges" printed over "France". This mark was used after 1891. This charger is in beautiful condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines. There is one tiny dimple on the face of the charge which was done at the time of manufacturing.
The charger is 13 ½" across X 1 ½" high, circa 1890's – 1900.
