This set of five (5) sterling silver dinner knives is lovely. The blades are plated, the rim that connects the blades to the handles is sterling and obviously the handles are pearl.
These knives were used with sterling silver flatware a great deal around the Victorian ear and the turn of the century. If one desired, it is my understanding that the blades can be re-silvered (re-plated) for approximately $10.00 to $12.00 each.
Each knife, on the blade, is signed "M.G. Wood & Sons". The knives are 9" long X 5/8" (widest portion of pearl handle) X ¾" (widest portion of the blades). The condition of the knives is good. As to be expected, there are some surface scratches on the blades from use, circa 1900.
