Antique Porcelain, Dresden Trio, Meissen
The gold band design on the plate is 1", it is ¼" on the saucer and 1/8" on the cup. There are four (4) panels on each piece, two (2) panels having people and two (2) having a floral design.
The two (2) floral panels have a clear, medium blue background with hand painted roses, leaves and floral blooms in pinks and soft orange shades. Each panel is divided by a gold band of swirl designs. The panels are fan shaped narrowing to the center that has a circle with an elegant hand painted flower. The gold design in the center circle forms a five (5) point star around the flower.
The two (2) panels with people depict a man and a woman seated with a background of trees. These two (2) panels are different on each piece through they are similar, each depicting a couple. The plate is round with scalloping around the edge. The cup and saucer have four (4) deep scallops making them oval in shape.
Each piece of this trio has the logo of the "double edge sword Meissen" in blue under the glaze. The plate is 8" round. The saucer is 4 ¾" X 4 ¼" X 1". The cup is 3 ½" wide (outer handle to opposite edge) X 2 ¾" X 1 ½" high.
This trio is in very good condition. There are no chips, cracks or hairlines. There is some wear to the saucer in the area which is blue. Circa 1800's.
