This Gorham sterling silver nappy is very unique since most nappy's have a single bowl but this one has two bowls. I love the handle because it looks like a handle that would be found on a flatware utensil.
The shape is oval and has a decorative rim around the outer edge in a floral with scroll design. The other flat section in front of the nappy is monogrammed "MMR". The stamps on the back read has: "Gorham – the logo of the lion with the anchor and letter "G" – 4053 – a sail boat". The total weight of this piece is 4.8 troy ounces.
I personally like the versatility of this nappy.
The nappy is 8 3/8" long X 5 5/8" wide X ½" high. The condition is very good. There are no dents. There is some minor pitting in the inside bottom of the nappy. Circa 1920-30's.
