Composition Madame Alexander “Quint” Toddler Doll, Vintage

This small Madame Alexander "Quint" doll is absolutely adorable. She is wearing her original soft blue dress and her original bonnet. The fabric is organdy and the dress has a delicate lace border that is attached to the underlayment of the skirt.

The bonnet is "off" white with a delicate cluster of flowers attached to the single band of ribbon surrounding the bonnet. The shoes are a blue hard plastic which match her dress. She is wearing her original factory knit white socks.

I love the hand painted eyes, lashes and eyebrows, all original. In addition her lips are painted the original red color. Her hair is brown.

Her arms and legs are jointed. She is modeled after one of the Dionne Quintuplets, born in 1935. The quintuplets created a media sensation as they were the first quintuplets to survive. Madame Alexander had the exclusive rights to use the Dionne name for her dolls.

I very much like this little Quint girl. I think she is an absolute cutie! If I was a doll collector or just a lover of dolls – I would certainly want to keep her. The stand that's holding her comes with the doll.

On the doll's back there is a raised stamp mark which reads "Alexander".

The doll is 8" tall X 3 ½" (from outer elbow to outer elbow). The condition is very good, circa 1936-37.
