Antique Asian Soapstone Carved Desk Piece

This antique hand carved Asian soapstone desk piece is wonderful. This particular piece was carved to house a small pad of paper and two (2) rows to hold three (3) pencils or pens each.

The carving on this piece is very attractive to look at.

There is a carved Asian cache pot with an open flower in the center of the pot with cascading foliage. The cache pot is sitting on a platform which has a cut out base. The color of this soapstone is on the soft rose shade.

This piece is 5" long X 2 ¾" high X 1" (front to back). The condition is very good. There are no chips, cracks or hairlines, circa 1880's.
