Heisey “Colonial” Punch Bowl, Vintage

This punch bowl is a show stopper, style wise and size wise! The pattern name for this punch bowl is "colonial". I love the elegant form of this piece. I purchased this punch bowl from a home in Bar Harbor, on Mt. Desert Island, Maine. It is obvious from the condition that is has been very well cared for.

This bowl has a very pronounced flare to it which personifies its elegance. I would use it on my dining table and seasonally I would fill it with winter greens, fruit or flowers. When using it for its intended purpose I am sure the compliments will be forth coming.

This bowl, due to its age, has some straw marks and bubbles within the glass but this adds character and interest. There are no chips, cracks or hairlines. The bowl has the familiar Heisey mark, an "H", within a diamond, on the bottom.

The bowl is 6 ½" high X 15" (across the top) X 5" (across the base). The flare of the bowl is obviously personified due to the variation from the 5" wide base to the 15" wide top. The bowl, especially for its age, is in very good condition. There are some surface scratches, to be expected, in the lower section of the bowl which are the result of the use of a ladle. Circa 1910-1920.
