This man's sterling ring is very impressive looking. The center diamond shape stone is a tiger eye surrounded by a black onyx. The contrast between the tiger eye and the black onyx is very attractive against the sterling shoulder and shank of the ring.
This ring is substantial looks wise and weight wise. It weighs .68 troy ounces. The stamps on the inside of the ring read "Polytex – Sterling – N.Y."
Although this ring is obviously for a man, I can see this ring easily being worn by a woman as a scarf slide. Either way, it is handsome and very appealing to look at.
The size of the ring is 9 ¾. The face of the ring measures 3/4" X 1". Its condition is very good. There are some minor surface scratches which are virtually unnoticeable without the aid of a jeweler's loop. If one found these offensive, they could easily be buffed out by a jeweler – quite frankly, they do not bother me a bit. The ring is circa 1920-30's.
