This antique sterling silver asparagus fork was made by Durgin Mfg. Co. in 1910. Around the 1930's this particular pattern was picked up by Gorham Mfg. With respect to this fork, the stamp on the back has only one logo, that being Durgin. Additional stamps on the back of the fork are: "Pat'd – J.F. Caldwell & Co. – Sterling".
Personally I very rarely come across asparagus forks. People generally keep and use this particular serving piece so I am excited to be able to offer this sterling silver asparagus fork!
The fork has a block print monogram "HAS". The fork is 9 ¾" long X 3" wide (across the tines). The weight of the fork is 4.05 troy ounces.
The condition of this fork is good. There are some surface scratches and one dent to one corner of one of the outer tines. Certainly a jeweler can address both issues if you so desired. Quite frankly neither bother me and I would use it just as it is!
