This antique set of six (6) porcelain plates is absolutely gorgeous. The plates have a multitude of colors. The outer border of each plate has pink and orange flowers with vine and leaves in deep cobalt blue and gold veins running through each leaf.
The flat section of the plates has two (2) large pink flowers with small clusters of orange flowers. The cobalt blue leaves are also highlighted with gold veins throughout the leaves. I think these plates are handsome!
The stamp marks imbedded on the bottom of the plates read: "Cauldon - # 38". Printed in purple is "Cauldon, England". In addition, printed is orange is "L – 291 – 6". All these marks are under the glaze.
The plates are 10" across. There is some surface wear to the plates, yet I consider these plates to be in very good condition, especially for their respective age, circa 1802-1814.
