The amberina water pitcher is outstanding! As with all amberina, the lower section of this piece is amber in color and it then flows into a rich cranberry color which encompasses the remainder of the pitcher. The handle is applied and is a tight rib clear design.
The pattern of this pitcher is called "inverted hobnail". This pitcher could truly be displayed anywhere in one's home – and it certainly would be noticed very quickly. Simply stated, it is strikingly beautiful! This piece, along with many others, were purchased from a fellow whose parents were antique dealers in Maine for over 50 years.
The pitcher is 7" tall X 7 ¼" wide (from outer spout to outer handle) X 3 ¾" across the base. The condition is mint with no chips, cracks or hairlines, circa 1890-1900.
