This four (4) piece Heisey custard glass breakfast set is amazing! Generally you will see the butter dish but I just purchased this four (4) piece set from a Maine estate.
The set consists of a covered butter dish, covered sugar bowl, creamer and spooner. The hand painted roses are beautifully done. The bottom of each piece has the Heisey mark, the diamond with the “H” in the center. The pattern is better known as ring band.
The butter dish is 7 ¼” wide X 6” high (including the cover). The sugar bowl is 3 ½” wide X 6 ½” high X 4” wide across the base. The creamer is 3 ½” wide (5” from outer spout to outer handle) X 4 ¾” high. The spooner is 3 1/2” wide X 4 ¼” high.
There is one chip on the scallop edge on the top of the spooner and one chip on the base rim of the same piece. The other three pieces are in very good condition. Other than the two small chips mentioned there are no chips, cracks or hairlines.
Personally I can see these four pieces permanently sitting on the kitchen counter or island because they are not only lovely but I think they are “cherry” and I am sure – as a set – they will get many raves! Circa 1900.
